Maybe I'm watching a little too much TV. Or perhaps not enough after watching this. Black Dice's newest video for the single, Kokomo, is fucking nuts. Fruity Cherrios, Bud Light, UFC fights, Sly and the Family Stone, Sister Act, Stuffed Crepes at IHOP!? I don't even think that scratches the surface on what's been included in here. This is seriously my favorite video of the year.
This thing is like a fucking pop culture tornado. Or typhoon. Or cyclone. It's some kind of natural disaster I can't exactly fathom.
And if you guys happen to dig this song, by all means check out Eric Copeland's (also from Black Dice fame) new album Hermaphrodite as well. It may be just as good, if not better, than BD's latest.
Sorry if I'm throwing a little too much at you. Just gather an opinion on the video up above. I'm sure this thing will probably be a hit or miss among many of you, but that's what music's all about.

This post should just stand as a testament as to how much I love The Social Registry. It seems as if they have an artist on this label to fit just about any mood I'm in at the moment. If I want jazz, I've got Artanker Convoy. If I want something slightly psychedelic, I've got Samara Lubelski. Folk or blues, T.K. Webb. Not to mention, a couple of previously posted bands, Gang Gang Dance and Telepathe. It just seems as if this label can do no wrong.
To reaffirm my point, I'd like to introduce Mike Bones. I won't pretend I'm some kind of connoisseur in regards to him (in fact, I only first listened to him a couple nights ago over a glass of tea), but I most definitely like what I've heard so far. If anything, Bones reminds me somewhat of Simon Dawes or Cass McCombs (both of which aren't too bad). And from what I've read, dude's been making quite a splash up in his hometown of New York City.
So enjoy your guys' Monday and check out some new tunes. I'll continue on with my day and make a real effort to keep this thing updated everyday.
-Chris
P.S. Just a note: The mp3's a little fucked up and cuts off short, so here's the Myspace link for you guys to check out a couple full length jams.

Mike Bones - Love's Not Yours
Dance to the underground
0 Comments Published by Josephalbert on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 3:40 PM.At this very moment, I've got $15 in my pocket and not too much else to fall back on afterwards. It's not at all depressing. Lame, yes, but not depressing. I hope not coming across too much like an optimist, because that is by far not the case. It could possibly be the weather or perhaps the music coming through the speakers. That music being the subject of this post, White Williams.
A most legendary individual who has quite recently completed his tour alongside Dan Deacon and Girl Talk. A show (which seen here) I very much intended on seeing. Due to certain circumstances, however, it just wasn't in the cards. I would have liked to dance and view what I would imagine was an amazing show.
But I'd like to let you guys get in on the fun. Listen, if you please, to Mr. Williams' three goodies down below. Even more, check out the full fucking album October 30, courtesy of TigerBeat6. I love this shit so much!

Let me enlighten you on my most recent overly watched video.
Poor Jeff. Play close attention to his final comments.
Poor Jeff. Play close attention to his final comments.

So it was kind of inevitable that I post about this band sooner or later. I will say, though, that it's been pretty tough for me to listen to anything loud or hard over the past few days due to my sickness. I mean I've been listening to anything that'll rest my nerves a bit.
In which case I'd like to mention Beach House; one of my favorite bands within the past year. This band pretty much epitomizes everything dream pop. And that artwork up there? New fucking album. I really cannot wait. But for the time being, I'm gonna have to make myself some tea or something. I'm dying right now. Enjoy.

I just hope that I don't fall into another indie pop debacle like I did with Architecture in Helsinki. God, I hate that band now. Los Campesinos! are good, though. At least for the time being. They keep my keep my feet moving and my head rocking, so that's what's most important. Good shit, guys.

I'm looking at purchasing a bicycle soon. When I get this bicycle, I'll have my Vitamin Water in tow, along with some music to keep me further occupied as I pedal my way to whatever destination I'm lead towards. I may be listening to some of the usual suspects, but without a doubt I'll be playing some Gang Gang Dance.
I'll travel along the streets listening to Lizzie Bougatsos' howls and chants, Brian DeGraw's beats and bumps, and every other little quirp and clang from this Brooklyn tribe. Up and down the streets, riding throughout blocks, traveling down hills.
Now I'm just being stupid. Enjoy GGD.

I wanted to write this long, fantastic short on Deerhunter and how strange the members themselves are. But I'm just too lazy now. And allergies are a bitch, so I'll just leave it at this.

I guess I'm slowly switching sides with Beirut. Their sort of reinterpretation of Parisian folk is slowly working its way into my system. Not to mention the new album's banging.
Check performances from nearly every song on the new album via the beautiful minds at La Blogotheque.

Perhaps I've just found my new favorite record for the week (or at least the past couple of days). Mr. Oizo, SebastiAn, and Sebastian Tellier absolutely killing it again on the soundtrack for the French film, STEAK. Jesus Christ, Ed Banger's has had some hot shit this year.
